If you think about it...we're helping with some of the much needed support in forums these days. The DMXzone extension developers get to spend a little more time each day <i>on</i> those extensions - patches/bug fixes, and finishing new versions, etc.
For the extensions we already own - there's a higher & quicker chance to get updates and new features.
For other extensions, being l33t MajMembers we <i>could</i> <b>get thrown a (bone) extension or two by DMXzone management</b>, exposing us to more of DMXzone's library/product usage...secretly seeding our experience & knowlegde of their products, enabling us forum support for, at the least, general troubleshooting and information! :Evil laugh: *Muwahahahaaa*

Hi Chris,
That's a great idea, we have a support system next to the forums that we can give acces to because the support forums are to be replaced by support forms that are processed using the support system (to prevent eternal browsing to hundreds of topics). Please fill me in further on the extensions for support idea).
Cheers,
Frank

Me too sadly, tho im not plugging for another freebie. i have enough books to last me a lifetime.
I brought up the idea of extension testing, beta-testing and free suites of choice being awarded
so the support side could be assisted nearly a year ago. Same for the "Premium Content", it wouldnt burn a hole in the pockets of the zone to give access to these products.
I'd also like to see Lee(Digga) and Simon(Ganeski) made mods too, so we have 5 active admin on board. There are plenty of zones with no mods attached.
That's all i'm going to say on the matter, as it seems all I do lately is diss the zones :/
I just wanna make it great again, like it was when i joined.
regards
Dave

Access to the "Premium Content" would be excellent, the books are just collections from there anyhow and a lot of the time the answers to posts are to be found either on Google or simply by searching DMXZone itself. I often give links to the articles that'll help solve an issue so in a sense that'd be free advertising for the content / extensions.
As with most people here I've been helped by members of this community and try to give back to them and it whenever I can - the more I know and learn the more I'll have to share. As Digga says, Sharing knowledge saves valuable time!!!

Same here. <b>Getting to know the individual articles</b>, over the E-Book, would benefit support posts. It's easier saying: "This $3 article will show you, step-by-step, what you need to do and why" ... instead of: "The $29 E-Book has a <i>chapter</i> on the subject." I see more people smiling about a $3 solution/investment that's educational for that moment. Attention Deficit Disorder (A.D.D.) runs rampant with designers/developers. Hehe.
Reading an article that's now in an E-Book usually has a text promotion saying it's part of an E-Book so users will always know about the E-Books that are available to them.

Can you comment on this at all Frank? <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
i personally only want the <b>mods</b> to get access to stuff, otherwise we could have forum slags like chris <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> spamming us all day long to get good ratings.
majestic members should get a free book or choice of premium content, but the choice would be nice.
it would be good for the zones if we could promote their stuff for them, but only having read 2 articles which were crap, and the css book, which wasnt much better i can't comment on the rest of the 'good' stuff.
and the only extensions i want are asp related
but if you(simon) and lee get modded with us, then you'll be included in that. but this is just my thoughts, i have NO control over anything
regards
Dave

I would <b>love</b> to see some <i>advanced</i> tutorials covering some complex issues - don't ask for examples its gone my bed time!

I went through the CSS eBook yesterday and for a beginner I think it's ok, maybe overpriced when compared with the Sitepoint HTML Utopia, which I found/find to be a great reference book. For me, well the doctype switching and grabbing IE6 by the b@115 was the best bit, finally getting the damn thing to behave.

I agree with Dave about the access to extensions and content and from a DMXzone business perspective it would be the correct thing to do, especially as the majestic members list will grow for ever more.
<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle> Question about the mod status, has Frank/Dave/Chris had discussions about whether this is in the pipeline for Simon and I? I just want the <b>POWER</b>!

Same here! I can/would learn new stuff though, fairly happy using Perscript with ASP, but PHP/CGI, that's like latin.
