A week ago I could see remote files via ftp in Dreamweaver. Not I can't in either Dreamweaver or another ftp program. Since it's happening in both programs, I'm guessing it's a Windows issue, especially since HP walked my through some system changes last week. Does anyone know what I need to change back? Thanks, AMcShould I stay or should I go now? Thanks and goodbye Joe.

when u say remote files thru ftp, do you mean on an actual web-server that isnt on your computer.
if so then nothing they should have done could lose these files for you.
have you checked all your site definition stuff, made sure no paths have been editied, deleted etc..

Dave

If one of the system changes that occurred was installing windows XP Service Pack 2, then it is likely that is the cause of your problems. I've had plenty of machines not able to browse ftp sites after sp2.
Not sure what the workaround is because I've never really needed to find one.

Thanks to you both. I've had some system problems involving Realtek Audio that apparently invoked a system firewall, which turned out to be the culprit. I've now gotten the Windows patch addressing the Realtek problem, therefor hopefully preventing an unintentional firewall such as that again. Thanks again. AMc
