MX constantly quits
07 Jan 2005 01:56:59 Ralph Ski posted:
I'm running Dreamweaver MX on my PowerBook G4 (just bought it recently) and as of the last 2 weeks every time I open Dreamweaver and try to open any of my existing files from my site menu it just quits. Do I have a bug or is there a quick fix for this? Please help if you can as my website really needs some updates.

Make sure you have the lasted update for your DW MX (6.1), available on Macromedia's site.
Worst case scenario, export your site definitions and uninstall/reinstall DW MX.

I had something very similar recently - see my post www.dmxzone.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30423&FORUM_ID=544&CAT_ID=2&Topic_Title=DWMX+crashes+when+I+use+it&Forum_Title=%2A%2A%2A+Macromedia+MX+%2A%2A%2A
Uninstall/reinstall's were not fixing the problem. I was cleaning my registry of all traces of "dreamweaver" and "macromedia" (don't know if Mac's work the same way) that also wasnt fixing the problem.
It seems that my problem was caused by importing the site definitions themselves. Don't know why, its something I'd done loads of times before, I can only assume something in the xml was corrupted somehow.
