I have created a company intranet for our small organisation. The pages are stored on a PC on our LAN and accessed via a shortcut on users desktops. The pages are all linked HTML pages so straightforward enough - No fancy dynamics to deal with. After putting a lot of effort in my boss has noticed an aspect of the intranet he does not like. Basically several pages have links to Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents. Users can open these documents and download them to their local PC. I understood that these documents must reside within the root folder of the intranet, however my boss would rather that these documents were in a folder outwith the root folder. I have tried to link to documents outwith the root folder of my site but DW MX does not like this. Is there any way to accomplish this?Cheers

Hi Steve
You can link to documents anywhere you have the rights to do so and they do not have to be in the root of your website, personally put mine on an ftp site. If the documents are outside of your website then you can't use DW to build the links, you'll have to manually create them.
Just interested, why does your boss not like the http download from the intranet site for these files?
