Regarding to Table and Border and Image Resizing

I am creating a page using Dreamweaver 2004MX and Fireworks 2004MX by using HTML. I am building a page somewhat like a catalog and there will be 9 pictures on each page. I have insert the table in the Dreamweaver template. I built a table (2rows and 3columns) for the 9 jpeg picture that I will import into 9 box table. When I import the pictures (JPEGS and BITMAP) into the box of the table I created in Dreamweaver, the jpeg picture does not resize itself to fit in the table. When I import the pictures in the box, it expands the size of the of the box in the table, to the picture's original size (which is way too big). The size of the pictures in terms of width and length are not consistent with the size of the box in the table and the pictures itself in terms of size are not consistent also (some are huge some are small). I do not have time to resize each picture, because "there are 1,000 picture" and the size of the picture and table has to be consistent on each page. So is there a border or a table that I can insert in Dreamweaver, so it makes the jpeg pictures fit the size of the box in the table I created. OR is there there anyway I can Lock the size of the border so the size of the picture will not expand the size of the border? Any other suggestion please let me know?I have brought two books already "A Beginner Guide" and "How to Use Dreamweaver and Fireworks?" and they sux.
My other questions is how do you make theborder, that holds the images, of the table visible.
To give you a better idea I need something like this to hold the images. Here is the link:

This is my last question! How come when I save a page I created in the folder and then upload that folder and page into FTP, the page and images does NOT show up. However, it only shows up on internet if I do not save the page in the folder and upload directly to FTP.
By the way what does HTML "href" mean
PLEASE HELP ME!!

hello there,
For ya images, i don't know a way in dreamweaver to do that but you can get a free bulk image resizer here
www.thejackol.com/index.php?p=60
As for ya cell border,
You need to put a table border of 1 pixel on ya table, then select cell and add bdr colour to that.
href stands for " hypertext reference"
Dont understand what ya mean with ya folders though
Anyway, hope this gets ya started <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
