We have an ASP site using a Microsoft Access database. "Memo" fields are used to store HTML coded data. We currently edit those fields by creating them in Dreamweaver and doing a copy/paste to the access field in a form view. Subsequent editing is either hand coding or bringing back to Dreamweaver - depending on the extent.

I am loking for a simple HTML add-on editor within Access that will connect to the Memo field in the Access form view. I am really surprised that Microsoft does not provide this as a standard Access feature givem the prolific use of this database program to drive dynamic web sites. Maybe some enterprising third party can see an oportunity here if its not already done.

Check out the newest release of the Advanced HTML Editor 2.0. Very good and scaleble HTML editor. Intergration in Dreamweaver is super and it works seamisly with other Server Behaviours, and of course the other extensions of DMXZone like Pure ASP Upload, Smart Image Processor, Pure ASP Upload, etc.

Thanks Rene. Unless I'm missing something I can't see how that would work. It would most likely rely on the underlying query/field to be updateable. This can be very difficult to acheive at times.

I think that what I am looking for is much simpler. It would most likely be an add-in for the database program - in my case Microsoft Access. The editor would take the contents of the current focus (from either a form or table view) and display it for editing. On completion it would write the update back to the database field. An independent feature would be a form control that would display a memo field as HTML.

All you need is a simple CMS which can be set up in 30 minutes in Dreamweaver... set up a connection to the DB. Set up pages for addition, deletetion and editing of content and use the HTML Editor for the textarea of the form... half an hour spent doing this will be well worth it
