Don't know Photoshop but you can save your document as an PNG and then let Fireworks handle the rest? Fireworks can import PSD as well.

Yes, choose File -> Export, set Save As to "HTML and images". You can set the options in some checkboxes or click 'Options' in the dialog for more advanced options.

in ImageReady when you slice up a image you can <b>save optimized as</b> . That will save everything you sliced into tables for you
