<!--#include file="../Connections/Nweukna.asp" -->

to

<!--#include virtual file="Connections/Nweukna.asp" -->

and not to use ../ inay referance to local files on the server. IS THIS TRUE !!!. have they b******d something up. An in anycase what they say does not work. Have they made this ans ASP.net site ? They are not talking. Has anyone had a similar problem. Please help this site is important to a lot of people and has been down for a month now.

First of all it is a very strange way of driving business when your hostingcompany is treating customers like that <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

Our company moved a year ago from Windows 2000 Advanced Server to Windows 2003 server and we had some start-up problems. Windows 2003 comes with IIS6 and has standard some settings disabled.

When we installed Win2003 with IIS we could not access files form upper or lower folders. A html file could e.g. not use an image in the \images\ folder. This is just a little setting in IIS.

And again Bob, if your site is down for over a month I really consider another hosting company... We are also an hosting company and we are not the cheapest but when we are upgrading our server park we always test every website and communicatie with the client during the whole process...

Good luck!

Hi Bob

This change in IIS was implemented as a security issue as it allowed naughty people to run their own include files when hacking websites. In older versions of IIS the 'enable parent paths' setting was allowed by default, for all later versions of IIS the default setting has this option turned off and would need to be turned on for your website. Not sure if they would be willing to do this, but you can set in on a site-by-site basis. It's in the configuration options for your website.

Hi again

Yup ! Bandsma it sure is lousy trwatment. But it is the first time they have been like this !! I think they don't know anything about Server 2003 either really and just have a windows server for any people who want ASP. They do know how to create DSN's and thats it I think.
I was not administratore of this site for a while ( but I did build it ) and the guy who took over from me was a dork. So there may be fall out from him.

Hi Digga
Glad to hear it can be implemented on a site by site basis and I'll ask 'em if they'll do it !!!

Thanx for all the help guys. really need it at this point
