I want to make a gallery with a text list, and one (large) thumbnail, so that, when the text is rolled over, causes the thumbnail to swap. I am sure that DWmx2004 has a simple way to do this - that is, to make one event control the behavior of a different item, but unsure how to make it happen. any ideas? I know I have seen this effect before, but now cannot find any examples, either.

couple of options available to ya.

you can use the swap / restore image behaviour on the link.

or you can use the show / hide layers behaviour as the link.

depending on which way you want to do it.

Yep, I pretty much had that much figured out. Thanks for the response though. I'll just have to tinker with it a bit until it works the way I want, as usual with DW... thanks again.

well all you do is:

insert a layer, position it where you want, put the pic in. set the visibility to 'hidden'

now select the link, open the behaviours panel, use show / hide layers.

set it to onMouseOver, and to 'show' > Layer1 or whatever you call it.

then add another behaviour underneath that 'onMouseOut' and set it to 'hide' the Layer1

do that for all your pics.

flash mx 2004 may be bettter for doing it this way tho, with the external .jpg loader, it would save having tons of layers hidden.
