Hi guys,

my site has two frames, top and bottom. I using the top frame for site navigation. The whole navigation bar is done with images. I'm using one button for a drop down menu which is done in fireworks.

The problem:
The menu works fine, but its not entirely visible due to the bottom frame covering it up. How do I make the the menu appear on the TOP of the bottom frame.

I hope this is possible.
Please any one is welcome to Help<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

thanks

Obviously it is your choice to build your sites however you want, and I know that people still are fond of using Frames.

In my experience however, i do not like to build sites with frames for two reasons:

1. I personally do not like the look of framed sites (just my opinion by the way)

2. nightmare to create and you always end up with problems just like you are experiencing.

Can I suggest that you have a think about using includes instead of frames?

This way, you create your menu on thetop page (top frame) and then include it in each page so that you can make site wide menu changes simply but you will not have the complexity of having to deal with frames....

Again, this is only my humble opinion.

what your asking isnt possible while using frames, as far as i know.

you will have to change it to a layer layout maybe, and give top layer a higher z-index than the bottom layer to make it show above it.

ditto vince, frames are nasty and i only think ive ever seen them used well on video multimedia sites.

Dave

in theory any host will allow server side includes, not sure if they could control this to stop it.

You just create a page with the items you want included on every page and then request that include on each page. It will automatically pull that area in.

On my site (link below) there are 7 includes, the top image bar, menu under, menu left, login form, footer, and a few config includes.
