I'm attempting to update my website and noticed that MX has a 'Page Designes (CSS) Three-Column Right Nav that I want to use as a template but when I choose create I get a message that states "Dreamweaver stores templates in the root fodler of a site, there are no sites defined"

Am I to assume that their are no local templates for CSS available within MX 2004?

Thanks<font face='Arial'></font id='Arial'><font size=2></font id=size2>

what the error is saying is that you have no sites "defined" in dreamweaver when you tried to create the css template. so it had no directory in which to save the css file.

was that the case?

I guess what I'm looking for is templates. Is there a good site to view templates to download and use within MX2004?

Thanks

Hey Cleary79, There are a ton of websites with templates, but i have found they are not easily modified due to the leap DW takes in CSS . Anyone have any tips on this

poor reply that to be honest.

be aware of copyright issues if you just SAVE someone elses work to pass off as your own.

but then your not much of a designer/developer if you do work that way.

and i wonder why the web has got so crap.

If you actually go and learn how to do it rather than just copying someone else's work, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to implement into your OWN designs.

There are a few really easy to follow css tutorials on the macromedia support site, and i'm by no means a coding expert, but i learned the basics off CSS-P in about 10 minutes.

Dave

On the right hand side of the screen there is a FILE tab
in there should be your website (empty at the moment) if there isn't one then click on &lt;define site&gt; and stick in a folder somewhere on your hard drive.

then try again with the template bit. It should work
