HiUsing IIS5+, Access 2003 and Dreamweaver 2004 to enable multiple authorship via Advanced HTML Editor.
I have designed the database to query the PAGE_ID and USER_ID thus enabling page by page access or denial of access. On successful login a linked list of editable pages appears for the logged in user. Upon login multiple session variables are created to allow the logged in user specific actions and/or create needed navigation variables.
This works like a charm when tested locally and even appears to work as designed when on the production server but, unfortunately, often times attempts to access the website are met with white screens - the activity icon on the server appears to be at work non-stop during these "white outs". Is this a tell tail sign of Access' limitations, a looping process, network traffic?? Your ideas and insight are appreciated!

load on the server, badly written code (as in making the server work too much), access limits, bandwidth...
could be any of the above where a whitespace page is displayed. I know a few peeps who have probs with Access 2003 though. Drop it down to an access2k db and see if it does the same.

Dave

Yah, figured as much... working 100% local and trouble on the production server leads me to believe bandwidth problems even though the IT dept. says no way... logs don't suggest too much server work... and outside of "prime" work hours the site works fine. Do I dare go to .NET over ASP...
