i have a db with a image column. when i insert data through a form to that db what should i send it as? (text, number). any help would be greatly appreciated.

"text" if your storing the path to the image and not the image itself.

i'm really new to using ms sql and dreamweaver. i have been told that it is a bad idea to have an image as a datatype to store images. Is there a way that I can just store a pointer?

im also really new to sql server, but the way ive done it before in access and mysql is to store the path to the image ie www.mysite.com/images/image.jpg

ive never actually stored images so cant help ya there.
