Hi,(I have posted this same message on teh Dreamweaver board so appologies if you have already read it - I'm just desparate for some help <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle>
I have saved all of my files with a .php extension but have since been unable to view them in design view - only in code view. If I change them back to .html, I can use design view but cannot preview any of my php elements when I preview in a browser.
Is there a button or function i need to change in DWMX2004 that will allow me to use design view for .php files?
Many thanks
Steve

Hi Steve
I have had that problem before. Try this: Edit / Preferences / File Types Editors.. remove .php from the list of extensions to open in code view.
Hope that works for you.

I find that when my files have the .htm or .html extensions they show up fine, with dw putting in a php icon where the code is. I've found that if you keep the php bits short - like dw writes them, then dw copes a lot better with showing you the design view properly. If you write lots of your own php and incorporate it then dw has problems.
