Hi all,

Can anyone point me to a reference, or define a workflow, that will allow me to use the Unicode and UTF-8 features in MX 2004 to display several languages on the same page?

There is a resource on the Macromedia site that talks about translating DW documents to another language, but that is used, I understand, with the International language pref on my Mac. You encode the computer for Japanese keyboard and then encode DW for a japanese page.

But what if you want to include Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Croatian, etc. on the same page? The DW 2004 feature highlights say you can do this, but does not tell you how. The DW Help is quite useless.

Thanks!

Hi Radiogirl,

you need to do the followings before you start creating a page in multiple languages in Dreamweaver MX 2004.

- Configure your system with Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Croatian, etc input system enabled.

- Set up DMX 2004 to display unicode font. You can set this up in Fonts Preferences panel (Edit > Preferences > Fonts). In my case of Japanese OS, MS UI Gothic works perfect.

- Set page encoding to UTF-8. (Modify > Page properties > Title/Encoding)

Then you can start creating a page in multiple languages.
