Javascript error when using PHP server behaviors

I've never spotted anyone else having this problem. Every once in while, DMX flips out when I try to add, delete, or modify a PHP server behavior on a page. I get a long list of "out of memory" errors on javascripts buried deep in the configuration folder. The only thing that seems to fix it is to wipe out all the PHP code and start over. This has been going on with Dreamweaver Ultradev, then MX 6.1. First on a G4, OS 10.2 thru 10.2.6. Now a duel cpu G5 with 2.5GB of ram (out of memory?). Deleting the preference file makes no difference.

This is becoming an extremely aggravating bug.

Unfortunately, no- I haven't seen this specifically myself. Doesn't mean it's not happening, tho.

#1 cause for JS errors (IMHO) is conflicting third-party extensions. Does your problem still exist after disabling them (via the Extension Manager, of course)? Secondly, you're on a Mac so this may not apply, but if you have 'real-time' virus scanning enabled on your system, this can exacerbate the problem. If so, exclude the Dreamweaver Configuration folders (in both ~/Library/Application Support/Macromedia, and /Applications/Dreamweaver MX/).

Basically there's hundreds (if not more) text, HTML and JS files in the Configuration folders that get accessed regularly for DW's various features, so if the virus scanner 'stalls' this activity you can see random JS errors pop up very easily and quickly.

HTH!

Well I suppose 3rd party extensions could be the cause, but I believe it was exhibiting this behavior before I installed any. I try to keep extensions to a minimum. Installing them only as I need them.

It's not virus software, I don't have any installed. There's not one confirmed virus for OSX yet. I can't think of any feature or function in OSX that could be stalling the access of these files, but it's an interesting idea, OSX has a lot going on under the hood. I'm going to look into it.

Hey, thanks Alexandru- that's a very handy link/reference- as always, great work. Curious (as I've not had this problem before on my Mac), does this same bug reproduce with MX 2004? TIA...

All right, way to come through! This sure sounds like it could be the problem. I've installed the patch. We'll see.

I find it amazing that there's nothing on Macromedia's site about this.
