I'm interested in using dreamweaver mx in conjunction with php and mysql. I recently installed them (php, mysql, apache, etc.) with an all-in-one installer from nushere. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get everything working via dreamweaver. I think I have the php portion figured out, but how to I connect to mysql. I saw that I could go to applications and hit the "+" button, but have no idea what to put into the text boxes. I'm just beginning with both php and databases in general. Can some one help me and possibly lead me to a good beginners resource. Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you are using Windows. You might want to download MYODBC from the MySQL website - it allows you to bypass DB connection problems and get to work... but I caution you, it is worthless if you plan to move the site to a Linux based server.
