I have Smart Image Processor and I'm having some trouble. The server I'm using runs the latest version of ASP.NET and I can't seem to get this extension to run. As a matter of fact I can't even get your server component detection script to run. I have contacted the server with this issue and they are stumped. They claim that the ASP.NET on their server is in perfect order.

All files are correctly uploaded and the script has never been altered and this is how the script runs... www.artskenai.com/detect.asp

I was hoping that since I purchased your first Smart Image Processor that I could be entitled to your ASP.NET version considering I can't seem to get your original version to work.

Thanks

Dave

This is the message Patrick Woldberg sent me re the same prob and it fixed it.

"You posted an error message from the detect script, the error message you are getting is because of the permissions that are not set correctly."

Give the ASP.NET user permissions on the folder.

If you are still having problems after looking at the permissions email
The ASP.NET version of Smart Image Processor is for developers who code in the ASP.NET language. It is a different extension.

Still no luck. I'm really frustrated. The server tells me that the ASP.NET is running correctly and my permissions are fine. The images will upload but will not resize.

We cannot get SIP work on our machine (Win2003, IIS6, .NET) but we installed the .DLL file what is coming with the package (or download it)

Give the .DLL to the /users user full control.

The main problems is the xml-parser, the ASP cannot directly communicate with ASP.NET and an xml-parser is used to let it function with ASP.NET

Hi Patrick, I am searching the FORUMS for a solution to the same problem that borealisdesigns has.
Could you please expand on what you wrote, it's all double-dutch to me <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Thanks - Helmut

ASP and ASP.NET are two different languages that do not work togetter. We used a little trick to use ASP.NET from within ASP. This method works in most cases but not always perfect. The detect script is to check if this communication works between ASP and ASP.NET.

If you wish to use ASP.NET you can also decide to use the ASP.NET bundle and create the whole site in ASP.NET. This is garanteed to work.

Thanks Patrick, I understand that much. The detect script works on my server - detecting aspx - but the resize does NOT work???
If I was to use the ASP.NET bundle, I suppose I would have to purchase it, even so I purchased the ASP bundle after positive testing with the detect script???

Cheers - Helmut

I would be happy to use anything that works at this point. As Helmut pointed out, I bought the ASP version because the detection script was postive for ASP.NET.

I spent good money on something that I did not know that the "method works in most cases but not always perfect."
