I've been using Dreramweaver for many years now and I've always had a problem with setting up my sites. Here's the situation:My server has various folders at its root, one being the html folder where every html file and all images etc. go into subfolders.
If I set my site root at the html folder, all of my templates look great (I use site relative links for templates) but when I publish to the server, the files don't go to the html folder unless specifically drag them there.
If I set the site root to the actual root of the server, all of my files publish great but then when adding an image with a site root relative link, the link is added as /html/images/etc. I then have to go back and delete all of the "/html" so that the image is referenced correctly for the web server.
I don't own my own server (shared hosting) so I can't make any changes on the server. Anything I do will have to be on my development computer or in Dreamweaver. Any ideas here?
I've dealt with this for about 3 years now just assuming that it is a fact of life. I thought maybe I would see if anyone had any suggestions or maybe a workaround.
Thanks for your time.
