I've been reading a lot of good things about asp.net, but I can't figure out if it will work on my system. I have already installed the ASP.NET software development kit and the .NET framework version 1.1. I've also read that I need Microsoft IIS version 5 or greater, but I don't know where to download this or if I already have this on my machine?
I was able to download some examples of ASP.NET pages as a tutorial, but when I try to preview them in Dreamweaver MX, I am asked to select a testing server because it is server-side code. When I click yes, I get the error:
The following JavaScript errors occured: At line 100 of file . . . exception throw in native function.
I am not sure if this has to do with an error on the page or because I don't have everything installed.
Can someone please give me some advice?? Thanks!

You need to install IIS, because it is not installed by default. Start -> Settings -> Configuration -> Add/Remove Software. On the left side of this screen, you can select new windows parts to be installed. Select IIS and you are all set to go...

Rik,
Thanks for responding. I went to my install window components and did not see what you mentioned there. Would it appear in the directory, or do I have to click through a section to get to it?
If I don't have it in my directory, can I download it online or does this mean that ASP.NET just won't work on my computer after all?
I read online at msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpguide/html/cpconaspnetplatformrequirements.asp that ASP.NET is supported on Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional. I'm using Windows XP, Home ed.
Do I have to upgrade for it to work?? What platform are you using?
Thanks
