Smart Image Processor - Dynamic Thumbnail Size
11 Apr 2003 08:26:32 Don West posted:
I have successfully stored the size of the large image in the database using PureASPUpload by using the hidden fields and entering their names in the PureASPUpload Advanced dialog. How do I do this for the thumbnails?
How do I make the thumbnails size be 20% of the large image?
Thanks!

We will add these features to our list for a future update of the smart image processor.

Me again Martha,
I can make this work as is for now but I need a way to make the thumbnails to always be 100 pixels wide regardless of the format of the picture (landscape or portrait) and still maintain the aspect ratio.
Can I do that?
Thanks!

In Smart Image Processor put the width of the thumb to 100 and the height to a very high number like 10000, this should do the trick

You 'da man Patrick!
I really wish this sort of stuff was in the tutorials! As much as Martha touts them as the answer to end all answers, they are just too basic. I read them over and over before posting on any forum and rarely do I find the answers I need in them.
It seems to me this was just a simple "how to use" issue. The kind of stuff that needs to be in any tutorial.
Thanks for reading the post and answering!

You can set the width to 100 pixels and the image will resize to 100 pixels with the aspect ratio in mind. Set the height higher if you do not need the height to be restricted.
