Can't connect to MySQL in Dreamweaver

I have installed MySQL on my computer, given it a username and a password.I defined a site in dmx as php and the server executes my php pages with simple scripts.
I'm trying to connect to MySQL database and getting HTTP Error code 404 file not found.
I can access my database through phpAdmin and it runs just fine.
What am I doing wrong?

Have you selected the databae in the databindingspanel?

How are you trying to connect to the database? You mean while creating a new connection? the address should be 'localhost' without a prefix of any kind
