I am trying to retain the position of a background image within a table.

I have set a class in css and set the background-attachment to fixed. The table is then set with the css style.

All of the other properties set in the class appear to be working but the attachment still scrolls.

Any ideas out there, anyone.

As far as I know 'background-attachment:fixed' is not very well supported in modern browsers.
And older browsers like NS4 don't know how to handle it at all.

Thank you for your reply. Although it is listed as 'supported' as such, according to Mr Meyer, "The specification allows user agents to treat fixed as scroll. This has the same effect as not supporting background-attachment at all,...."
