Hi there,

I'm using the PD-Online editor for a small CMS for educational websites. I'm wondering how to implement a tablefunction.
Can someone help me with this.
Thanks.

what exactly do you want to do. maybe if you explain yourself a little clearer you'll get more replies.

You could select the 'View HTML' feature, then simply handcode your tables yourself. I think the PD Editor is pretty simple, and if you are looking for more functionality you will need to look to another app/extension.

There is another free extension on this site called the RTE Editor:

Or, there are a bunch of editors available that do tables, but you will have to pay for them:

<b>ActiveEdit ASP</b>

<b>Advanced Content Editor</b>

<b>EditAce</b>

There's a tutor about inserting images in the PD-editor. www.dmxzone.com/showDetail.asp?TypeId=2&NewsId=2001

I'm looking for a tutor about inserting tables in this extension. Or a suggestion how to do this.

Thanks.

Table handling in an online HTML editor is not easy. It requires an extensive and fairly complex amount of custom written JavaScript code. I don't think you will find an 'out of the box' solution to accomplish this in the PD Online Editor, nor a tutorial.

But (as the other poster already suggested) there are other online HTML editors out there besides the PD one (both commercial and free), some of which have table support included.
If table support is important to you, maybe you should try and find an editor that better suits your needs than the PD Online Editor.

I can allready vouch for active edit, over the weekend my errors were fixed so now it can run in an environment that is not active X developer friendly. And I just copied the same file I received from CFdev into Paul's extension folder and that also fixed it for using it in the future, so it won't replace my working editjs.cfm at work.

Just keep in mind that you can't use it with CFFORM yet, you need to copy over the created tag once you are happy with the settings, if you want to use additional elements for pagenames, pagetitles and author fields, like I'm doing.

with kind regards,
