Iam really confused in using AUTONUMBER in Access DB.

I have a form , when the user submits, the data gets added into a DB and the userID is autogenerate in a format (TM12001) and it goes on incrementing.

Now when I perform a SEARCH, with this UserID, it is not working. Even though I put the UserID (TM12001 or similar) in the box and click submit, the results page doesnt show up. Instead it show errors. But when I put just '1' it displays the FIRST RECORD>

WHere am I going wrong..?

Could you post some of your code? I am in particular thinking of the SQL-query which searches the database, and a little above and below that.
