or do most dreamweaver sites appear to load faster then sites created in other development tools ?

i surf alot on our intranet, but when i surf Telecom Sales (with flash) or kpn.com or a few other MM tool created thingies including our own portal built in ultradev, they appear to load faster than others...

And i notice the same thing on internet, is this just coïncidence ?

with kind regards,

Hi,

i guess it depends who you speak to and what server-language you are talking about. A lot of people would argue that ASP/VB-script is a shit-language that performes badly. Some people say that ColdFusion is a lot faster or slower. The truth is that the greatest inpact on a websites performance is in the database and its design. The optimisation of the database is the crucial factor. And remember, SQL Server is a lot faster then Access. And MySQL is a lot faster then Access. But not allways! One thing is sure though; ASP.NET is allways faster.
But it should not be to hard to find a bunch of guys who would argue that ULtradev and DMX-code is too complex and inefficient.

Het is maar hoe je het bekijkt, zal ik maar zeggen..... <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Regardless of scripting language, database type or server software, where and how the site is hosted will probably have the most impact on a sites performance.

If a site is hosted on a dedicated server with a high bandwidth connection all to itself it's going to perform much better than a site sharing a server and bandwidth with hundreds of other busy sites.
