Hi there,

After using MySQL for the last year I have now moved to MS SQL.

I was wondering if anybody knew how to create a database entry larger than 8000 characters (this seems to be the lasgest I can get one).

8000 seems a bit small for a large article / online document size.

thanks in advance!

Paul

Use a data type of text - 64 billion characters, should be enough.

I'll try that tomorrow, then I will try to create a 64 billion character entry...or maybee I'll just take your word for it!

thanks again, that has helped me very much

I just checked that, it's actually only 2 billion characters, 2,147,483,647 to be precise. So you will only be able to fit a short novell into each field after all. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
