they say the simpliest of problems are always the hardest to solve, so i could really use some help i this is really getting to me now. I have a drop down menu display a field in a database, when i go to up date a record ie change a value, the drop down does not show the value it currently has. It seems to be any ramdom value from the field. any with a help?

All you need to do is:
-highlight the drop down menu,
-click on the "Dynamic" button in the properties inspector,
-the dynamic list/menu dialog box comes up,
-at the bottom of the dialog box there is a text field called "Set Value Equal To",
-click on the lighting bolt,
-find the value in the recordset you wish the drop down menu to be equal to,
-highlight it,
-click "OK"
-click "OK" again

That's it, give it a test!
