Can I create an FTP server from my local machine that has WinXP? Can I use a Win* OS or does it have to be on a *nix OS?
What software do I need if any and how do I go about doing this?

Goal:
The office I work for, an Architectural Firm, need to transfer CAD files to consultants whenever we make changes to a drawing. Currently we are just using e-mail to send the files but CAD files can sometimes be enourmous and take alot of time to upload/download. We would like to cut the time we spend on e-mail so we can work more efficiently.

What I used to use was this:

It's quick and really easy to setup, RELIABLE and almost any FTP-client can access it.

If you really need help with the M$ FTP server then i'm afraid I cannot help you further.
