I need to create a header, side bar and footer for my website. Now originally the web site was created in Frontpage, being that I started here I convinced them to get the MX Studio. Frontpage uses webots to created library like items (I Think). Now I'm faced with recreating the site and I want to be able to add rollover and dropdown menu effects to my side bar and I'm not shore if I should use Snippets or Library items so I can easily update the look of my site. As a matter of fact I'm not really shore how to go about this and by the time I get my learning books in it will be about a week. Can any one be of any help to me. Thanks! Replies

I have had major problems with Library items in DW MX, I used to use them all the time in Ultradev and it worked fine. I don't know what they heve done but it's nothing but trouble in DW MX.
Update library items is really slow, takes 20 minutes with the CPU at 100% for a 100 page site and once it does complete it sometimes screws things up and I have to restore the site from the backup I've made.
Basically I've given up on the feature alltogether and now use a series of Include files. This has the advantage that the code contained within the Include file is er.. included as the page is served, so updating the include page automatically updats all the pages that use it without having to mess about with DW MX's now totally useless Library Items feature.
So, until Macromedia finally sort out the problem and release a patch don't bother.
