Is it possible to install Dreamweaver on say your 100meg Zip,

so that way you can work on different computers without having to instal DW everywhere.

V,

The quick answer is no. When you install DWMX, regardless of its location in your system, the program must be registered in the OS registry. Additionally, no matter where the program is installed, some "common files" are stored in the c:\program files\common files\macromedia directory.

Though the main program files will be on your Zip disk, if you take that disk to a system that did not have DW installed on it, none of the registry entries and common files will be available. The program will more than likely crash hard upon running it, if it runs at all.

I'm no guru on this sort of thing, and there are surely more reasons than the ones I've given, but the registry and common files issues are BIG ones.

Oh, that's too bad. Because I can't install Dreamweaver on my work computer. No Admin priveledges. However, I thought that having a zip disk that has dreamweaver on it, that I could use that during lunch and work on my things.

Any ideas on how I can accomplish that, or an alternative.

V,

If you have an internet connection that can stay on while you're at work, you could set your comp up for remote access and you could actually do your work on YOUR comp from your work PC. I'm not sure of the details behind the setup, but I'm quite sure it is possible.

Oh my gosh.

I completely forgot about that.

Thanks for reminding me. I have a lot more things that I can work on now.

Thank you.
