When I load the phpMyAdmin index page the html loads fast, but the IE loading bar will be half way across and the page takes over a minute to completely load?
Then when I select one of the default databases to view I get "A connection failure has occurred" error??
I am running XP Professional, MySQL 3.23.52-nt, phpMyAdmin 2.3.1 and IIS V5.1.

the best way to administer MySQL databases is via client applications such as MySQLFront

mysqlfront.sstienemann.de/

this tool is indispensable to anyone who uses MySQL. it's fucking amazing and i can't believe more people don't use it. it should be made a law. dammit!

I used mysqlfront for a long time then i started to realize all the bugs in it and how much it sucks... it has problems deleting tables and if you want to edit fields, you cant use the program for fields with more than like 10 words...

phpMyAdmin is really the best way to go

and as for your error, it seems like its having a hard time connecting to the database. Make sure the mysql user is able to be used from any machine...
