Heres what I want to Do. On front page of site, a drop down list for the section they want to search, this is just a link to the relevant page.

then an input text box for them to put in their search. then when they click submit they go to that relevant page and it searchs with their query.

Is this possible, cos my thoughts that I could use the seperate search pages i have for these sections but have access to search them all from one location.

Can I do This?

Any help or ideas would be greatly received.

Cheers

If you are running with IIS you can use Index Service that will search all your pages / text content and titles.

If you have data from a db as well, it will search SQL Server for you as well making it very powerful.

It takes a while to set up and understand how to query but it is very effective and amazingly fast.

I will be running it on a windows server. But all I want is a form. a list box, and input box and a submit button. The user chooses the section/page and then puts there query in and click submit. This then goes to the page that they chose in the drop down box but with the query from the input box. It just means that rather than go to the section then search they can do it from the front page. Am i aiming to high and should i make things more simple?

Many thanks for you time.
