For those of us who connect to a Serv_U FTP Server, the uppercase directory names are converted to lowercase when dreamweaver attempts to determin the server time, so when Dreamweaver attempts to create the folder XYIZNWSK, It cant be read and displayes the error that Server Date and time cannot be determined. This eliminates the synchronize and versioning built into dreamweaver. Not good when you are working in a project team of a dozen or more people.


Why does Dreamweaver create the XYIZNWSK directory in caps rather than in lowercase?
Can I change this in the configuration somewhere?
Has anyone else had this problem and sorted a solution along the lines of altering the write format to lowercase?

This was in Dreamweaver 3 and it is still in MX. I am curious as to why the uppercase file name. Surely a lowercase filename would also work and eliminate this bug.

For those of you who get "Cant determine Server Date and time" back from your server, try under Site Definitions, Remote info, to check Use Passive FTP.
It worked for me.
