Help!

Ive just installed mx studio (educational version, from bought CD) onto a windows xp pro machine. I have tried to use php to connect to a web server, and have successfully managed a connection using the built in php server. The database I am connecting to is mysql.

I was disapointed that the MM php server didnt include user authentication, so I thought Id give the Phakt one a go (looked at it before but didnt have a hp server to use)

When I try to test a new connection i get the rather cryptic "An unidentified error has occured" message and nothing else.

What am I doing wrong?

Phil

Hi,

Did you read Phakt reference manual? Did you change your connection on the testing server to PHP ADODB? You also need to change your document type on the Application tab to PHP4.

I even have this problem after changing these variables, but I kept browsing around and changing them everywhere I saw them, and finally did the trick. I don't exactly know what I did that help, but if you keep browsing around too, you may be able to do the same. Good luck.

Thanks, Id just posted this and I managed to resolve the problem myself!

I was looking at the posts about similar problems and they all seemed to mention these two things, ie PHPadodb (which I had) and php4 (which the behaviour had already done for me)

What I hadnt done though was select "php4" document when I opened a new file! If I click on "new, file" and select php4 doc, then it all works fine.

Thanks for everyones help, this is a great site, phakt is a great extension and its all just what the web is about!

Phil
