how do you set-up sql server on IIS 5.1 winXP, Preferably free.
Im testing my site on my machine before I upload, this includes a php forum which uses sql, the php I sorted but the sql is another matter

The only free solution I know are 120 day trial period evaluations. SQL Server Licenses can run a couple thousand dollars or so. Look into some academic versions if possible if you're not gonna use it to make a profit.

or use MySQL and avoid the corporate c**k-sucking companies who are out there to squeeze every dollar out of you.

mySQL works fine with IIS under Win2K or XP and you don't need to worry about any compatibility issues if you're using PHP are your app language.
