anyone know a service provider that will allow you to use FoxPro instead of Access for the database?

I have a client who has developed all his inhouse control software with foxpro, we had the same problem most of the hosts allow you to work with acces and sql, we had to write a couple acces db's to compute information from a fox source, but we had to do it from the clients own server.

If you are developing for yourself i suggest to work sql if heavy traffic expected, acces will do fine with small apps, if you are working someone else's app then you and your customer have to face the idea of installing a server of your own.

Even then a lot of behaviors work in a weird way with fox, they are not compatible, especially if you paln to work with a shopping cart.

we have been looking for a long time now, and came out with no hosts capable to use fox db's, in case you find one let us know

Hi,
I run a small web design/hosting business and we rent servers which are capable of running Fox Pro DB's through an ODBC connection.

I have contacted Support on this matter for you, but however they have told me that Microsoft is currently looking into some issues regarding this and that I shouldn't offer the service at this time as it isn't 100% reliable.

If any updates are available in the near future I'll be sure to let you know.

Best Regards.
Dave
