PHP and MX firewalll / virusdetector -problem

I'll try to transfer PHP-files via MX (using firewall and also virus (Mcafee) scanning machine. But it doesn't work. Newtwork admin say to me, that I have to transfer PHP-files in binary mode. So but how?? I cannot select in MX Site windows ascii or binary transfers??
