Actually i got the username and pswd from my professor, he hasn't gave me the DSN yet. I had planned to use UD at first, then i realized most of the functions are easier to achive in access, and only a couple of things really need to be online, so i decided not to use UD.
But i still need a DSN, right?

Well, UltraDEV makes setting up dsn's easy. I'm not sure what question you're asking, but I used to use ASP and Access Databases for my online applications. In that case, you must remember that UD can change certain things when you upload your site from computer to host, however, a DSN is relative to the server itself.

If he's given you a username and password and expects you to use a DSN and not a Connection String, you'll need to tell him where the DB is. More then likely they're running a win2k server, and all he's doing on his computer is opening up the ODBC connections box, making a new FILE DSN, locating the DB you specified, and then using the username and password he supplied you with.

Once that's setup (and make sure that your school sets the proper permissions of WRITE, READ, UPDATE, etc on the folder) you should be good to go once you upload your pages (which will include the CONNECTIONS folder that has your dynamic connection information in it)
