Hello, I have a few forms that inserts registration information into a database (Access97) when the user click's on submit. This works fine, but what I would like to do is have an email sent to an administrator here notifying them that a new record has been added to the db. Even a confirmation email sent back to the user would be handy.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can probably use CDONTS.

I haven't turned my attention to figuring that out yet myself, but I'm sure you can find oodles of info on this topic here or at the Macromedia Site.

Good luck!

Mr Wil,

I haven't started using the CDONTS yet either, and was hoping to not get into that.

We have a custom email scripting program that I use submit some of our current forms (they use blat and/or jmail).

So, basically, like to insert a record and submit email script with one click.

hi
you say that you have access to jmail, well what i have done on my site is in the insert record server behaviour, the redirect field is set to redirect to a page with the jmail code on it (you can send a confirmation email and a notification to an administrator from here), then on this page i have added an onload behaviour that redirects to wherever i want the user to go when they have submitted the form.
hope this helps

Dave
