I would like to use and understand Ultra Dev. but I feel like I have my hands tied behind my back sort of speak.

I am on a mac and that makes it a lot harder than on pc doesn't it?
Is ASP the best for beginners that are on a mac?
Anyway, I have a lot of newbie questions. I am finding it hard to put the right things in the "Difine Sites" area of Ultra Dev 4

Does any one have sugggestion on what is the best low cost host for one using Ultra Dev 4 and a mac?
Is there a great low cost host I can go on the net to check them out?
Thanks for any help you can give!

I wouldn't say it's the best price, but probably the best host you could possibly go with:

Intermedia.net is the best web host I've run across. They provide a wonderful Control Panel that allows you to keep full control over your FTP and Web site. Unlimited email, 100MB storage space...blah blah blah. You can test-run their Control Panel, too--it's called Host Pilot.

As far as whether or not ASP is good for a Mac user--I couldn't tell you. I don't know what kind of ASP engines there are available for Mac, as you'll need the core elements to process the ASP...I can suggest that you trash the Mac and get an IBM, but that's just my opinion on Macs... <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

If you're a beginner, any scripting language would be good to start with. If you have any familiarity with JavaScript, you'll find that ASP/VBScript is easy to understand (it's more literal english than JavaScript.)

Hope that's enough info for you! Good luck!

Checked out the site and it seems like it is Windows oriented.

Thanks for the post
