updating words referenced in many pages

new here...I'm not sure how to word this question but here goes...
Suppose you were to maintain a website, lets say 100 pages worth of documents.
There are numbers (or words) within 50 of those pages that change on a regular basis (as an example a rate change).
My question is:
Is there a way you can set (tag or code) the word/numbers refered to within each page and update them all from one source? Is something like this possible?

DMX has a new feature of the Find a Replace option which look not just on a document but in the whole site. There is a price, you cant undo once you apply the code so try to do a test one before triying it. So the steps would be this:
a) look for the code and get rid of the <a> tags...
b) Plug the new tag with the new address.
--------------------------------------
Another option might also been .css and set clases to this special words and just change the *.css page.
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>

Jza,
I think what Webthred is trying to achieve is dynamic content, not mass-replacement of tags and codes. For that, the only real profitable solution will be a dynamically-populated ASP/PHP/JSP/CFM websitr using a database backend.

The find and replace feature isn't new to DMX it exists in Dreamweaver 3 Ultradev 4 too.
In the Site window: Edit > Find and Replace.

Thanks for your response. Was praying for an easy way out, but I believe your right.
I'd have to go with asp/access.

Thanks for your response. I don't know what DMX is.
If you're talking about Dreamweaver Extentions, then I've tried those as it pertains to cleaning FrontPage out. I could do a Find/Replace on the entire site within Dreamweaver itself, but what if:
Some of the words/numbers (eg: 1%) within the site contents of text refers to previous words/numbers;
1. "The rate of 1% ....blah blah blah... "
2. "The cost is only 1% of .... blah blah blah"
3. "The 1% of those that ... blah blah blah"

Thanks for your response. Again I don't know what DMX is.
Find/Replace I can do. I'm looking being able to, I suppose "catagorize" mark/tag/code/?? a piece of text.
Too far reaching for my knowledge and experience. Interesting though....

I meant Dreamweaver Extention, and I felt that he knew he was avoiding the use of a server so Find and replace could have been a good solution. Specially if he is just use them as variables.
And is true Find and replace was in previous versions, however in DMX (Dreamweaver MX) you can replace the whole site with just one click.
Which makes a tiny, big difference.
