User Authentication - logging into different pages

I'm using a Mac G4 with OS 9.1.I'm setting up my page with php,
i was wondering if someone could help me with the code for loggin in to different pages.
I found a technote @ micromedia.com

It goes over how to do this with asp, jsp, and coldfusion. It doesn't help with any code for php.
I was wondering if any one could help me?
