<font face='Verdana'>Hi all,I sure hope someone can help me with a clever hint because i have ran out of clues and this forum is my last hope.
For a reason i don't understand, i can not insert or update to tables of a number of databases on my dev-machine. The problem is not in the database itself i think, because i have tested it with Access, MySQL and SQL Server. Reading is ok, but changing the tables content is a nono. I get no errors. It just doesn't do it. I use the normal server behaviour, nothing strange. Very simple forms. It smells like a permissions thing of course. I work with UD4, Windows 2000 Pro, IIS5 and ASP. Databases: MS Access, MS SQL Server (MSDE) and MySQl. Connections through ODBC. This works fine. I have been loosening up W2K-permissions to the extreme, no result. I have set my IIS5 permissions so rediculously open that even Bill gates can get in any time he wants (He probably could anyway). So i just don't see what else to do. I read the entire Microsoft handbook for Windows 2000 and IIS administrators. I just don't see it anymore. There must be something i overlook.... And the strange thing is that i have some elder databases on my system, that have no problems at all. And i can not find a difference.
Sorry if i sound desperate. But actually i am.

Goto:
c:\inetpub\wwwroot
and right click on the folder of your directory. Goto sharing and click SHARE AS. Then try again. If you don't share your directory, it won't allow for update, inserts or deletes, but it will for views

<font face='Verdana'>Thanks aegiskleais,
But this is not the solution because the directories are sharedd for the web.
Sorry.
