can't get to show £'s tried LCID code & reg settin

i am desparately trying to show currency in £s but it only shows dollars. i've tried regional settings and putting in LCID code for 2057 on relevent pages tht show prices of the products. what could possibly be wrong i am doing.with regards

Check the regional settings on your machine.
