Hi all,I have a PC with Windows XP Home version on it - what can I use in place of Personal Web Server, as this version of windows does not have a web server...I don't want to have to upload files to my internet server just to check if they work...
Many thanks,
Peter Borcherds

IIS 5.0 or 6.0, which is included only in Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional (not XP Home Edition).
Windows 2000 Professional and XP Professional are made specifically for the developer with complete ODBC Database and Internet Information Server administrative tools.
I recommend you stay away from PWS. PWS is a poor mans web server. For real power and control use just IIS 5.0 or above, which will run everything (ASP, CGI, etc.)
My set-up is ultradev 4.0 under Windows XP Professional and I get the most out of Ultradev and have total power!
