Hi.

I am having a huge problem.
I am running ISS on Win XP Pro.

I use UD to make asp-sites, but when UD is running and I want to preview my documents, am am getting a Internal Server Error - "cannot open...file already in use"

But when I shup UD down - my sites seem to work. Further on, when UD is running, an "Access LockFile.9" is apearing in my database folder - and i goes away when UD is closed.

What is going on here?

sounds like this is part of the reason Microsoft is taking Windows XP out of circulation and out of the stores.
like i said months before it was released, do not get it, the pre-releases were full of bugs and knowing M$ the final release won't be much better, turns out i was right again.

your problem resembles what i had to deal with for 6 months, nobody knew the answer, microsoft never replied, hang up phone on me and last week it mysteriously was fixed.
i'm not sure if my changing settings fixed it or the update i installed that required a reboot...But after the reboot my errors were gone. And it just happens that it was a fix for a server bug. i'm running win2k pro btw.

i can only recommend you to install latest security fixes, i won't send you to M$ support site, cause that's where i kept going since September last year to fix this, forums, newsgroups, M$ helpdesk, KPN tech support...nobody knew what was wrong.

My problem was worse though, the problem persisted even with UDev closed and before someone mentions it, it wasn't a security / file-sharing setting.

With kind regards,

Honestly saying i am running XP pro aswell and never had problems. Before i was running
Win 2000 pro. And telling you the truth i found winxp pro faster and efficient than win2000pro.
Mostly such errors occur when you mess up with your databank connections. Try to install latest visual basic library and mdac patches. If not save your configuration folder and reintall ultra dev and try to do it "custom connection string".
Good luck
