I would like to use .htaccess for user authentication and have no problem doing so, however i would like to filter the recordset with the username they enter in the http user autthentication box that pops up.

Is there a way i can capture that username to the put into a session variable?

I'm just not sure if you can access that usename and what the syntax would be.

Any ideas would be great.
