Sorry that this is such a newbie question...

What permissions do I set for a folder if I want the database in that folder to be readable and update-able using ASP pages but I do NOT want anyone to be able to download the database?

You may want to check with your ISP.... they should be able to help you more... The folder/data reside on their server, and depending on LINUX/UNIX, NT, WIN2000 and other types of server operating systems, the manner/syntax may be different.
