For a while I've been running a rather succesfull website driven by a MS Access database with ASP. Because it is starting to be more popular everyday, Access is showing some of it's flaws. It's becoming slower and when several people are visiting my site simultaneously, it sometimes locks up.
I'm thinking of replacing the Access database with something more stable and faster, but the problem is I don't know what to use. I heard SQL server is a better solution but I don't know anything about it. What about using Java server pages or Coldfusion, would that help or should I really go for SQL server? If so, is there someone who knows an online tutorial or at least an introduction to SQL-server? I would really appreciate some advice on this one. Thanx everybody!

The jump from Access to SQL Server is fairly straight forward, there are differences but a lot will seem familiar. Here are some links:

www.microsoft.com/sql/default.asp You can download or order a 120 day trial version SQL Server on CDROM.
www.sqlmag.com/
www.sqlteam.com/Default.asp

Hi Reinv,
Have you heard of php and MySQL.
Go here www.firepages.com.au
They have a bundle called phpdev4 which you can download for free and install on your PC to do database testing locally.
I've been using it for several months and it's great.
